A student-led pop-up discussion on Princeton Sociologist Matthew Desmond’s Pulitzer Prize winning book Evicted. The book explores what it is like to be a renter in Milwaukee, flipping the narrative on how we understand poverty, finding eviction to be one of its causes, not a symptom. Pizza will be provided. This should be a lively discussion, and students who attend the pop-up will have priority attendance at a meet and greet with Matthew Desmond on Thursday, February 22ndbefore his talk. Part of the Blum Center for Global Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development’shousing affordability series.
