On Tuesday, October 9th at 7:30PM, Preet Bharara will be giving a public lecture at Campbell Hall, hosted by Arts & Lectures. Mr. Bharara led the prosecution of some of the world's largest firms, spearheaded high-profile public corruption cases, and pursued civil rights investigations, such as the treatment of adolescent males at Rikers. During his public talk, Mr. Bharara will discuss key issues shaping today's legal, corporate and educational spheres.
In preparation for this event, the UCSB Blum Center for Global Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development will be hosting a student Pop Up Discussion Group to discuss Bharara's career and the issues of law, ethics and justice he represents, on Friday, October 5th at 1PM (HSSB 4041). The conversation will be facilitated by Professor of History and Public Policy, Alice O'Connor. Pizza will be served. Students who participate in this Pop Up Discussion Group will also be invited to a meet & greet with Preet Bharara, former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, prior to his public lecture.
