The Blum Center for Global Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development is a Center for campus-wide scholarly discussion, student engagement, and public programming that examines the mutually reinforcing relationship between rising levels of structural inequality and the corrosion of democracy in the United States and globally. Our work focuses on how deepening socio-economic inequality has weakened democratic capacities and commitments, and how democracy can be mobilized to address these trends.

The Blum Center is recruiting an Undergraduate Student Assistant to work together with our staff, as well another undergraduate and graduate student, to advance thinking and engagement on poverty, inequality and democracy. The selected student will gain research and writing skills focused on issues of poverty, inequality and democracy, as well as facilitation, project management, team building and public speaking experience. Join us!
