Event Date:
Global Service Scholars live and work in host communities while learning about the country in which they are living, as well as contributing to ongoing poverty alleviation efforts led by local organizations. The UCSB Blum Center, in collaboration with our Blum Center affiliate at UC Irvine and the Living Peace Foundation, will sponsor a small group of students to participate in these four-week service learning experiences in Paraguay, Nepal and Cambodia over the summer in 2018. Trip expenses including program fees, travel and accomodations will be funded. Global Service Scholars care deeply about issues of inequality and poverty alleviation. As a Global Service Scholar, you will have the chance to put your values into action throughout your trip. You will learn about the country you are visiting, stay with host families, and contribute to ongoing poverty alleviation efforts led by local organizations.
Applications are due Friday, April 27 at 5:00pm.
